Gondwana Voices Bursaries
Gondwana Voices' greatest strength is that it gathers together the finest young voices from across our vast nation and its greatest disadvantage is the costs associated with bringing together these talented young people to become Gondwana Voices. Gondwana Voices is supported by the Federal Government through the Australia Council and by the NSW Government through Arts NSW. The major costs for Gondwana Voices however are carried by the participants. Unfortunately this precludes many talented young Australians from taking part.
It is our goal to ensure that in the future any suitably talented child has the opportunity to participate in Gondwana Voices’ programs without financial, social, physical or distance barriers. In 2007, 46% of our choristers are from regional or remote Australia. These young people face higher travel costs to attend Gondwana Voices programs and in addition, many come from drought affected communities.
Thanks to the support of the following individuals during 2007 we have been able to provide bursaries for six disadvantaged young people to participate in Gondwana 2008 National Choral School as well as provide a number of partial bursaries for this and other Gondwana seasons.

10th Anniversary International Tour
Representing Australia at a prestigious international choral festival is both a great honour and a tremendous learning opportunity for young people. International touring provides Gondwana Voices’ choristers with a broad cultural education that they may otherwise never have the opportunity to receive. It enables them to act as young ambassadors of Australian culture and brings the energy and vibrancy of Australian music to the world in performances of uncompromising quality.
International touring with children is a major financial undertaking and in 2007 Gondwana Voices launched a major fundraising campaign to support this tour. We are very grateful to the following individuals and organisations for their support.
